Flash BIOS chip

The FLASH BIOS CHIP uses a technology that can maintain information without the need of a battery. A FLASH BIOS may or may not support Plug-and-Play. The chip ID can identity plug-and-play (PnP) and non-PnP FLASH BIOS. The PnP capacity also determines what 'flash memory writer' must be used to upgrade the BIOS. Consult the manufacturer's literature for additional information about the motherboard.
